Ok I have decided to change the balljoint plates on the S-10 upper arms. Ive notched the tubes for better welding surfaces and also made the plates thicker. They are now 5/16" thick. This should make for being as strong or stronger than the previous style but the look is better.

199 and thats with what you see here plus balljoints. I just didnt have any balljoints in stock when I took the pics.
Im making another set this weekend for another guy. Im sure the price will have to go up soon since everything costs so damn much these days.
Hell even the poly bushings are about twice what they used to be.

I get my bushings from Energy Suspension.
I just paint the ones I use to take website pics. They come bare steel or if they are built and set on the shelf they will be primered to prevent rust. I dont have access to a deal or powdercoat right now. I am going to buy a powdercoat setup and start doing them myself soon. I think my time working at a powdercoat place showed me I can do it.
The price for the uppers right now is 199 with poly bushings and balljoints. If you just want some with no balljoints they are 175.
For you guys on this forum I will do uppers for 150 with poly bushings. Heres a little tip...
The Oreilly store brand Masterpro K5208 are excellent balljoints and have more travel than stock ones. Plus they are about 15 bucks each.
Im going to get the new 5/16" thick balljoint plates made a little bigger with rounded edges for a better look. I do have 8 more sets of the one thats in that pic. Im gonna make those here pretty soon.
I build these on a steel jig but they still warp a bit. I take them out, put them in a vise and take a 6 ft. long bar and bend them back about 1/8" to 1/4" whatever they warp. anyway I had a hell of a time bending these back. These bitches are strong!

One more thing...
As many of you know Im banned from SSM and S-10 forum. Im such an asshole I guess. anyway theres someone on S-10 forum that was asking about "dhr control arms" in the baggin it section. There was a pic of my arms and they were talking about them. anyway some are talking shit and Im now in the mode of proving them wrong by getting these arms out and letting people who have some tell the truth.
So now Im going to build these on a regular basis and start getting them out there.

Can you get the bushings in red?
DHPmike
05-17-2009, 08:32 PM
Id have to ask about that. I know they have lots of red but not sure if they have it for the S-10 uppers.
If you know anyplace that sells Energy Suspension just ask them if they can get a #3293 in red.
Ill ask the guy when I place my order tomorrow. Ill post the reply here tomorrow evening.

i have a few questions.
what would the wait time be on these?
can you make them custom length? EX: i need them 3/4" longer then factory.
whats shipping on them?
can you do lowers also?
i have some more Q's but im too tired to type them out right now lol.
DHPmike
06-01-2009, 06:25 AM
Yes I can make them longer than factory. I made a set an inch longer for Clyde at SSC, they went on Blazerado. I also made him another set an inch and a half longer for an S-10 clip that went under a 55' chevy.
The time from order to ship is about 3 to 4 days on a custom order.

I can only work so fast man. the Colorado/Canyon is one I used to make but not many people bought them.
If you all only knew how many people bought my arms and I mean even custom ones and had a cover or feature and didnt even mention the arms...
3 or 4 come to mind immediately..

As I suspected I would have to order about 500 minimum. Im usually in the 100 maximum order range. So I doubt I can do that. You can ask around at places that sell Energy Suspension and also check the books. They usually say what bushing number is in the upper arm set. As I may have said the #3293 fits other GM upper arms and sets. many offroad shops sell lots of red. You may find that bushing at some offroad place in some odd ass set. best thing to do id get a catalog and go thru it. maybe even online.

I will be making them and I may have said I use to make those before. If I were guessing Id say that pricing would be about 199 on the upper set. Thats without balljoints. You would use the stock ones. The lowers about 299 and also use the stock balljoints. These arent that hard to make I just have several ahead of them. If anyone has some extra stockers around let me know. If I had 1 upper and 1 lower to make a jig from the time would certainly be shorter.
